Here are some pictures:
Erm...the first time I made these I thought I was being all smart, using the universal fork-print sign for peanut butter cookies. And then I realized that they aren't supposed to be just LINES. You need to make criss-crosses by pressing the fork down the OTHER way as well.
No wonder my mom's friend looked at them a little confusedly. She's a baker too. How embarrassing.
Also. If you noticed the times on the photos above and are thinking, "What is this girl doing up at 2am baking??" then just know that my camera is messed up and it has all the times wrong.
Anyhoo, here's the recipe.
Peanut Butter Cookies
Originally from here.
Ingredients
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup white sugar (or, as some people suggested on allrecipes, use ¼ white and ½ brown + 1 tsp vanilla...but I didn't do this and they were still plenty yummy)
- 1 egg
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
2. Combine ingredients and drop by spoonfuls on cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes. Let cool for 10-15 minutes (or else they break apart).
If desired, sprinkle some turbinado sugar on top. Am I the only one who collects those little packets of sugar from restaurants? Anyway, those little packets contain A LOT of sugar. Enough to sprinkle a little over a batch of these cookies!
It's great that these are flourless. Recently my dad's been having trouble digesting the stuff, so I made these for him to eat...except he still prefers those ginger cookies I make. Plus, my mum hogs these cookies. She adores these cookies. She wouldn't let us eat the last one. She saved it for when she was alone in the house and watching Korean dramas. (By the way, you NEED to watch a drama called 'Scent of a Woman' because this drama is teaching me to cherish each day and make each moment last, because you never know if it'll be one of your last. Also, LDW and KSA are just gorgeous. You'll know what I'm talking about when you watch it.)
